I found this interesting video discussion that deals with politics and faith. Take a look, it's long but very much worth a view... Three pastors from three generations deal with what the role of the church is in politics, and in the world in general. While it is in many ways a US perspective there is certainly some application to the church here in Canada.

We have just implimented the ability to take online payments via credit credit cards. The logo that you now find on the site will take you to the Canada Helps Website . From here there a number of options, including one time or monthly donations. It is important to note that there is a 3% handling fee (Canada Helps is also a registerd charity). If you are considering using this new tool for you tithes and offerings, please remember the 3% extra cost to the church. Depending on your donation, and what kind of banking fees you might pay this may be a great answer for you.
The funds are transfered electronically, and a tax receipt is issued instantly. There are also some creative options including e-cards that can be given as gifts.
This will be a great tool for the Germany fundraising (be sure to indicate and chose the Germany fundraiser option if you are supporting it in this way). Also considering using this for you summer giving when you know you will be away. If you have any technical questions contact Scott, and financial questions, please contact Linda. |
