Responsible Love 

  It seems that as we enter the advent season that for most of us we try and be in the christmas spirit. Most of us despite the rush of the season try to emulate the characteristics of love and good well for our fellow man. Part of the greatest command that Jesus gave his followers was the command to Love one another. This is true not only at the advent season but is a command to love others year round. In fact this command was so strong that he said if we don't love others including our enemies that God's love is not in us......

     This sunday we will look at the topic of responsible love and what responsibilities does the follower of Jesus have to love others with the love that God puts in them to share. It is a calling to a high standard of thinking beyond what is best for "us" to what is best for "them".   Our focus will be on the passage in Luke where Jesus asks Peter Do you love me......and his challenge at the end of that verse is a call to responsible love.....Jesus says if you love me then you will FEED MY SHEEP......
