Lately there has been one word that has been tumbling around in my head, the word Transition. I see it all around me,….the leaves are changing, circumstances change, and hopefully those who call ourselves Christians are being changes from the inside, by God’s spirit.

But also in my own life my son Noah is making the transition from a crib to a toddler’s bed. Part of this transition requires either Kimberly or myself to lie down near him as he learns how to sleep in a toddler’s bed. In a few months he will transition again to a big person’s bed. This is a normal part of his development.

Spiritual it is no different for us as Christians...

We come to Christ and then the spiritual transition and transformation should continue to happens for us as natural as a child grows. This too is a normal part of our spiritual development.

The apostle Paul writes in Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I talked like a child. I thought like a child. I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.

He is talking about normal spiritual development of being a follower of Christ

1 Peter 2:2 reminds us that: Newborn babies, crave spiritual milk, they drink this milk in order to grow so that they may grow up in the understanding of their faith. {paraphrase}

The intention spiritually is that we will grow up in our faith, beginning as a child and then growing into a deeper spiritual maturity being able to digest even deeper spiritual food.

May we never be the same as we were yesterday spiritual but may we be at a deeper place today spiritually than we were yesterday. Knowing in all these things that we are empowered by God’s holy spirit to be changed, and transformed to being more like Christ.

God bless you as you grow in grace with Him
